I'm mainly writing this post to share the latest events and happenings and to tell a bit more about my life. I was sick for a few days last week, and I've no idea what it was - I didn't even have a temperature, but I was too weak to walk for two days. I recovered very quickly though, and I only had to stay home for two days, which is good, because with our schedules, one skipped lesson can cause a lot of trouble.
In the meanwhile my dancing classes have started again - I dance Broadway Jazz at DanceAct. Twice a year they organize big shows where all groups perform a routine they've prepared. The last one was in May, and I really liked it. I hope to go again in Christmas.
Another goal of mine there is to improve my flexibility - I've had 3 classes this season (I had to skip two because of the illness), and I'm already back where I stopped in May. I really hope to be able to do something that could be called a split one day soon.
In my last post, I probably forgot to mention the first reason why I chose the school I'm in now - they teach Finnish. I want to learn it, because as I mentioned in the Finland sweet Finland post, I'd like to move there one day, I have friends there, and I'm really interested in it. I even started competing with Samuli to see which one of us will learn the other one's mother tongue faster. To make the process more effective, we must help each other as much as possible. It's sort of symbolic, because we haven't even thought of a prize yet. So, the only motivation is learning a new language. And I know I'll beat him, haha!
But to get to the point - I came to my school to learn a new language. I found out that I'll only have the lessons from late October till late February this year - it's how the new system goes. At first I was quite disappointed, but now I'm really looking forward to it. My form teacher already informed me about an upcoming competition. It's in April, and I really hope I can go, since they're only allowed to send one person from each school to the beginner level. I already spoke to my Finnish teacher about it and I hope it was worth it.
By the way, next week we'll have some visitors at school just for us, the ones who chose Finnish to be their C language - linguist Lauri Kotilainen, children's writer Reetta Niemelä, PhD Kersten Lehismets and translator Anna Sidorova. I really don't mind going to school a bit earlier than usually for an event like this. Oh, the excitement!!!
Why does the post title say "Ouchy!" when everything's fine, you may ask.
As some of you may know, I like ear piercings and earrings. I had my first holes pierced when i was 6, and all i remember from then is that it really hurt, but it was so pretty at the same time, so I had very mixed feelings. What hurt me most was cleaning them though, and I got fed up with that and decided to stop.
When I was 10, I really wanted to be able to wear earrings again. I remembered that the piercing really hurt though, and that time it didn't go farther than just one hole in my left ear, a little below the old one. I stopped using it very soon - just one hole is useless.
A year ago I pierced through the single hole in my left ear again. I'm actually quite happy that I lacked the courage to do two when I was 10. Nowadays I wear a spiral rivet in that one. So, until Monday, I had 3 holes in my left ear, and 2 holes in my right ear.
About two months ago I got a good idea for my next ones - this time I wanted them both in my left ear. My right ear wouldn't look good if I continued the row, because of that one low piercing, also because the lonely hole is in my left ear. And voilĂ - on Monday, before my dancing class, I did it. :D
I'm very happy with the result - this time they were both shot exactly where I wanted and only two hours later I couldn't even tell. It's been two days now and I feel like they've healed, though I know they haven't.
Oh and also - I'm really looking forward to October, because in the beginning of the month, my dear boyfriend Samuli will visit me. I haven't seen him since my last trip to Finland, and we became a couple soon after that, so I'd really like to meet him again. He's only coming for a weekend, but it's so much better than nothing. Can't wait!
Well, I guess that's it. I need to run to my 4th dancing class. :)

About a year later I discovered that the first pair of holes were still usable, so I started using them.
When I was 13, I first had the idea of having another pair behind my old ones, and when I was 14, I realized it. I was quite nervous, but I stayed calm and it hurt so little that I was surprised. This time the holes weren't perfectly symmetrical - the one in my right ear was shot a little bit too low, but the left one was shot perfectly. They also took almost six months to heal. Ever since I made them, I've wanted more though. Yes, it is addictive.A year ago I pierced through the single hole in my left ear again.
