I've somehow dragged myself through the 2nd period. It was much harder than the first one, since the selection of subjects we had - less languages, more physics and chemistry - wasn't as much fun. The late autumn term has always been the toughest for me as well, and with the worst results. The little good thing in the middle of all the bad was the Finnish lessons, and luckily, I'll have them till late February. This time I didn't get very good results and I'm determined to fix it.
About Christmas celebrations, as I already mentioned in my previous post, my family doesn't have any traditions, so the actual Christmas holidays aren't anything special. The fun part is the few weeks before when the school and the streets are nicely decorated and one Christmas party comes after another. For example the one at my school. It ended the 8th week of the period, and even though the parties at my old school were very good, this one beat them all by far. Like everything in this school, it was very different. Instead of making it a Christmas celebration, it was advertised as "2012 awards". There were some performances, including a play showing a "traditional Christmas Eve in an Estonian family", which was quite funny, and included parodies of Titanic and Home Alone. Also, some awards were given out to the most outstanding students, and of course the dancing.

This year I spent the Christmas holidays mostly getting ready for the trip. I'm finally leaving for Finland tomorrow morning, and returning very late on the 5th of January. I don't know if I'll post at all while I'm away, or how frequently, but if I don't.. I wish you all a happy New Year, and may all your wishes come true. :)

Ilusat uut aastat sullegi! Toredat reisi! :)
